It's Been Quite The Week
This week has been a rough one. It started off with my favorite pair of rugby shorts ripping beyond the point of no return. They weren't just my favorite rugby shorts but my favorite shorts in general. They were perfect in every way possible, the fit, the flexibility, the massive pockets, everything a girl could want in her shorts. This was also my very first pair of rugby shorts from my freshmen year of highchool, they have gotten me through more action then I ever could have asked for. I have already been in contact with the company that made them and sadly they no longer use the same material supplier and said alot has changed in the industry, so my hopes aren't too high in finding them again. I have obviously been in all different types of rugby shorts through the years but none have met the match. I will be checking every thrift store I see here in New Zealand in search for any that might come close! We had a great turn out at Monday practice, and then Wednesday was the opposite which was personally disappointing. I think coach said we only have six more practices before our preseason game so hopefully the player numbers will increase and get more consistent. We have some team bonding events coming up that we've been looking forward to, so we should start to see the team coming together better. I also had to spend a little over an hour at the bank trying to figure some stuff out there, luckily everyone is extremely helpful and kind, I didn't even feel like I was a bother to them. We've hit some bumps in terms of work on Ian's end, which hasn't been helpful. Prayers in the work area would be much appreciated! Milking this morning was quite a mess too, I'm not sure where the issue was but gates were opening and cows were getting out in all sorts of areas. I have made friends with pretty much all the dogs on the farm though! Even seeing the pictures and videos of my babies back home warm my soul! Miss y'all and I will try to send some of my sunshine your way!
So sorry to hear about the shorts! I totally get the disappointment. If you know the brand... I would be happy to keep my eyes out here. Any reason to thrift is a good one! Great sunrise pic! Would love to meet the dogs... maybe a few pics of them? Does anyone else work on the farm or you guys have met your age to hang out with? Prayers for IanππΌ. Lastly, just remember, ultimately, this trip is about YOU, was set before YOU, for YOU... because of using the gifts God gave you and what He has in store for you. Don't let anything disrupt your focus on that. Just stay positive... with work and Rugby. It will all work out in His hands! Love youπ.... and don't forget dog picsπ€ͺ
ReplyDeleteThe brand name is Barbarian, it's more so about the material though. It's a pretty thick old style cotton, not one you would pick up and think you would want to wear normally haha so if they seem like they would be kinda uncomfortable that is probably the right stuff. That sunrise picture is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken! I came up over a hill and literally gasped when I saw the scene! I will try to get some better pictures of the dogs! I could only get videos of a couple to send to my mom, the dogs are just always moving so much! They certainly love having practically endless space to run and play! There is one guy and one girl that both work at the farm, I have been milking with one of them or sometimes the owner, but I think they want to eventually have me milking on my own. Which they did leave me to do once last week, it went fine but it also kinda sucked. It is a very different environment then at home, at home I can actually interact with the cows which is a huge part of why I have loved it, here its a different set up that doesn't quite allow for that. We have gone out a couple times with the team! Thank you Aunt Lisa! I will keep that in mind! Love you!!
DeleteWow! Beautiful and frameable photo there! I get how tragic it is to have lost those shorts! Hope your team or the thrift stores in the Mother Land of Rugby comes through for you. Check out the World Rugby Sop online and tell me if anything comes close we can send you if not. Loads of ❤️ love!!!
DeleteSuch a gorgeous picture! We appreciate the update and will know how we can be praying. Sending hugs from Ohio.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Much appreciated!
DeleteOh man... I'm so sorry Hannah... sending prayers your way... I'll take a look and see if I can find any used shorts online from the mid 2010s! What's the size/style?
ReplyDeleteFound these… I asked if they had pockets and am waiting to hear back…

She said no pockets. π
DeleteDarn! Sometimes it can be hard to tell from pictures but it does look pretty close to the same material! I appreciate you guys looking! The style they are labeled under on the website is JSZ, which I have never heard of otherwise so is probably just specific to Barbarian. I never thought to check other websites like that!
DeleteAnother pair

I basically just googled “barbarian rugby shorts women used”… who knows how these aearches work - maybe something different will come up for you if you search there!!
ReplyDeletePs what’s your size in these? πππ©΅ππ½
DeleteI would probably be a medium! I did stop in the thrift store again just a couple days ago to do a check and I found a pair! Its a different brand and a tad too small but the perfect material and pockets!
DeleteYay! I’m so glad you found something. If it’s heavy cotton, it will stretch throughout the day with wear like jeans I hope!
