Bushy Beach

It's been a bit more cloudy here the last handful of days but we still ventured out to the beach! Bushy Beach asks that you only visit the beach between 9am and 3pm due to wildlife activity. The penguins and seals will come up to sleep or what ever else they do and typically won't come up if there is human activity. We made it there just a bit later not knowing there was a time frame but still went down for a quick peek. It was certainly a steep trail down but very beautiful! We snagged a couple pictures and also got to see one seal sleeping and another farther down just hopping around. Also saw one of the saddest looking palm trees I've ever seen! We will certainly be back to visit!

      WOW Hannah, the picture of the seal chilling on the rocks is pretty cool. Glad you guys are able to get out and about.......keep practicing with that '5 speed'....you'll get it.

      The seal must have been super passed out because there were people walking pretty close to him. I wanted to pet it too!! The manual is getting better since the last round of advice so thank you!!

    The wildlife...better than the dead jellyfish on our eastern beaches! So cool!

      The wildlife is certainly interesting! For the most part it seems kinda minimal. We aren't in a house in town right now and even with the windows open at night it is pretty much dead silent, no crickets or anything! There is a little dog behind us that likes to bark quite a bit though haha

 January 25, 2025 I successfully drove today! It was not as bad as I had anticipated thankfully, and to get some driving practice in before attempting it in a manual car was helpful! I think it's more awkward watching the opposite driving from the outside then actually being the driver. There are many cute little cafes and delicious looking noodle places in town we look forward to trying! The best part of the day without a doubt was exploring The Public Gardens! Oamaru to Queenstown

I am back with great news! Right after I made my last post I got an email about a job! It was a position I had originally got turned down for but they had an injury on the team and reached out to check if I was still available! Sounds like they only need help for a month and maybe a couple extra weeks after but I will gladly take it! If it all goes well, they said they will reach out if they need any additional help while I am here. Next week I will start as a Vet Tech to assist a team for the teatsealing season so I will still get to work with cows too!! My wonderful mother found a program called Helpx, which is pretty much the same as WOOFing if you've ever heard me talk about that! For those of you that haven't, they are websites where you can connect with host people from all around the world! Day 1

San Fancisco 01/22/25  We have safely made it through the first couple flights and currently on our layover waiting to board the 14 hour flight to Christchurch New Zealand! At our first stop in Chicago we ate at the Billy Goat Pub and Grill (which we truly picked just because of the name of course)! I suppose they are known world wide and have their own hard seltzer called the Fizzy Goat! Everything was delicious and would for sure reccomend! This San Francisco airport is huge and we certainly made sure to get in plenty of steps! Ian and I were also extremely greatful for their outdoor terrace to finally get some fresh air! I am feeling a little nervous about entering New Zealand, which comes with the territory and I'm sure everything will be fine but there's still some worst case scenarios running through the back of my head, they do seem a tad bit more strict than the other countries I have visited. I do trust God has it all under control but obviously we will always welcome ...
