Casual Vet Tech Job
I have been teatsealing for about a month now, we've also done some dry cow, body scoring and blood drawing! Teatsealing has been quite the experince! Usually we have a team of 6 or 7 people, we meet at the vet clinic in the morning, load up the trucks, attach the trailer, grab our overalls and wetweathers and head out. Teatsealing is primarily done to heifers, so essentially first time soon to be mommas! On average we fit 6 heifers on the trailer, which is a process on its own, especially since this is one of their first few times being pushed into a contained area such as this. A couple of us try to stay clean so we can start sealing right away, and then a few are pulling tails and helping the heifers on, and one on the other side of the trailer trying to keep the heads in proper position and scanning the ear tags. Once everyone is loaded each teat is scrubbed clean and the tube of teat seal inserted into the teat, and then sprayed with a teat sealer. As any job with heifers or c...
